Craig And Hanle Grab All-America Honors On Final Day Of NCAA Division II Track And Field National Championship

PITTSBURG, KAN. – The University of Mount Olive men's and women's track & field teams saw two more Trojans earn an All-Americans on the final day of the NCAA DII Indoor Track & Field National Championships on Saturday in Pittsburg, Kansas. Mount Olive with the two All-Americans today rounds its total to eight All-Americans for the championship, the highest in school history for one championship event.

RACE NOTABLES
  • Craig got up to as high as 2nd at the 600m mark but fell three spots 300m later and continued to hover in the 5-to-7 range from the 900m mark on, until he crossed the line in sixth place. The finish brought home Mount Olive second first-team All-America of the championship and his second overall as he picked up a second-team in the DMR Friday night.
  • Hanle quickly found herself in the front of the pack at the 300m mark sitting at 2nd and saw the second place position at four different increments. At the 1800m mark, Hanle started to slow down as she progressively dropped a spot at each distance interval until the finish line when the sophomore crossed in ninth. Hanle with the finish picked up a second-team All-America and her second All-America of the championship as she picked up a second-team in the 5000m Friday night.

COACHES COMMENTS

  • "We brought the most student-athletes to the Track & Field NCAA Championships than ever before, and came away with the most All-American honors in school history, with multiple PR performances. The coaching staff couldn't be more proud of how the Trojans represented this weekend, and we're looking forward to an even more successful outdoor season," said Head Coach Matt van Lierop.
