Trojans Continue To Excel In The Classroom

Mount Olive, N.C. - The University of Mount Olive had another successful spring semester in the classroom. Fourteen of eighteen sports had a team GPA of over a 3.0. 

Women's Golf had the highest team GPA with a 3.74.

Two other teams achieved a 3.5 GPA: Men's Tennis, and Men's Golf. Including the three teams previously mentioned, 11 additional teams posted GPAs over a 3.0: Men's Soccer, Women's Tennis, Men's Volleyball, Women's Soccer, Women's Cross Country, Softball, Women's Volleyball, Men's Cross Country, Women's Lacrosse, Women's Track & Field, Men's Track & Field.

The average team GPA was a 3.178, which marked the 14th straight semester with over a 3.0 GPA.

"We're proud of the hard work by our student-athletes in the classroom, as well as the emphasis that our coaches put on academics. It is our department goal to average over a 3.0 GPA, and it is impressive that we have now accomplished this goal 14 consecutive semesters," said Vice President for Athletics Jeff Eisen.

There were also 22 student-athletes that had a perfect 4.0 GPA for the spring semester.
