MOUNT OLIVE, N.C. - The University of Mount Olive Athletics Department in conjunction with some of our wonderful sponsors are proud to present the 2019 promotional schedule for men's volleyball and men's and women's basketball.
Getting the year started is men's volleyball with a t-shirt giveaway sponsored by Piggly Wiggly on January 10. The Trojans host reigning national champions Long Beach State, currently ranked #1 in the national coaches polls, in their season and home opener at Kornegay Arena. The first 200 fans in attendance will receive a free volleyball t-shirt from Piggly Wiggly.
A week later on January 16th is Bojangles Night as the women's and men's basketball teams host arch-rival Barton College in a doubleheader with the women tipping off at 5:30 PM. Also, January 16th is 'Be The Match Night' as the two schools compete to register the most people for the worthy organization Be The Match, that helps match bone marrow donors to patients in need. Moving into February we have Church Night sponsored by Best of Clinton on Feb. 2. The Trojans will host Erskine College in a doubleheader with the women tipping off first at 4 PM at Kornegay Arena in which admission for all fans is just a $1.
On February 6, is the ever-popular "Blackout Night" sponsored by Piggly Wiggly. The men's basketball team hosts Bluefield State at 7 PM in a midseason non-conference contest where the first 200 fans will receive the 2019 Blackout T-shirt.
Lastly, on February 16, the Trojans will hold a Parks & Recreation night sponsored by Lee's Trucking. Mount Olive men's basketball hosts Belmont Abbey College in a single game matchup at 7 PM.
