Sheldron Fulcher Named New Head Cheerleading Coach

MOUNT OLIVE, N.C. --- University of Mount Olive announced the hiring of Sheldron Fulcher as the new Head Cheerleading Coach this week by Associate Director of Athletics LaToya Lindsey.

"We are excited to have Sheldron join the Trojan Family. His background in cheer and judging with the National Cheer Association should help propel our competitive cheer team to the next level. The program is fortunate to have his perspective and understanding of cheerleading from a Division I and national level," said Lindsey.

Fulcher joins UMO after spending the last nine years as the Head Instructor at Edge Cheer and Dance (a member of the National Cheerleaders Association) in Raleigh, N.C. Fulcher also served a stint as an assistant coach at Campbell University from 2014-17, where he helped the Camels to a CanAm Large Coed Collegiate National Championship.

Prior to arriving in Buies Creek Fulcher was the Head Coach at Southeast Raleigh Magnet High School for two years. During that time the squad achieved first-place in the Cheer for a Cure JV Non-Tumble division in just his first season as head coach.

Fulcher attended NC State University where he obtained his B.A. in Art Studies with a Music Concentration and was a member of the Wolfpack Cheerleading Team.
