Griego Adds Cashin To UMO Sports Medicine Staff

Mount Olive, N.C. - Director of Sports Medicine Kaitlin Griego added a fourth member to the University of Mount Olive Sports Medicine team in Mark Cashin. Cashin joined the Sports Medicine staff in August 2019 and will work directly with the women's soccer, wrestling, men's and women's tennis, and women's lacrosse teams.

Prior to joining the UMO Sports Medicine staff, Cashin worked at the ATI Physical Therapy office as an Outreach Athletic Trainer in Glen Mills, Pa. While working at the ATI, Cashin was primarily responsible for providing athletic training services to over 800 student-athletes covering 16 different sports.

Cashin spent a semester during graduate school working with the athletic trainers at Fairleigh Dickinson University where he worked with the Division III men's and women's basketball teams, baseball, softball, and men's and women's lacrosse. He worked directly with Athletic Trainers to help execute duties of prevention, injury evaluation, treatment, therapeutic rehabilitation, practice coverage, and communication with coaches. He assisted visiting teams with injury prevention, evaluations, and communication with coaches in the absence of their own Athletic Trainer, and also assisted with two ACL rehabilitations.

In the fall of 2016, Cashin worked with the Rutgers University Division I Football team where he executed daily duties of taping, treating and rehabilitating for all football players from the beginning of training camp through the end of the season.

He attended Seton Hall University where he earned his Bachelor of Arts in Social and Behavioral Science and his Master of Science in Athletic Training. Cashin is a licensed athletic trainer in NC, NJ, PA, and DE.
