Toliver And Tajan Named UMO Scholar Athletes Of The Month

MOUNT OLIVE, North Carolina - Hope Toliver and Baptiste Tajan have been selected as the University of Mount Olive Female and Male Scholar-Athletes of the Month for the month of November.

A member of the women's basketball team, Toliver is a senior pursuing a bachelor of science in Mathematics and a minor Computer Information Sciences who holds a 3.568 GPA. Toliver has been a four-year member of the women's basketball team and a leader for the Trojans on and off the court. 

This season, Toliver has tallied 66 points including back to back games of 15+ points. In addition, she has 26 rebounds, three assists, six turnovers, eight steals, and two blocks. In her career, Toliver has a total of 491 career points, 322 rebounds, 37 assists, 38 steals, 21 blocks, and has seen 1,412 minutes of action on the court. 

A member of the men's soccer team, Tajan is a junior pursuing a B.S. in RLS – Sports Communication and an A.S. in General Studies who holds a 3.396 GPA. In three seasons, Tajan has played in 48 matches starting 43 in the midfield for the Trojans. He has recorded two goals and 10 assists for 14 points. Tajan has taken 43 shots, with 16 coming on frame.

Scholar-Athlete of the Month winners are nominated by the University of Mount Olive faculty members and selected by a committee chaired by UMO math professor and faculty athletics representative Dr. Brenda Cates.
