Trojans Continue To Excel In The Classroom

Mount Olive, North Carolina. - The University of Mount Olive had another successful fall semester in the classroom. Eighteen of twenty-two sports had a team GPA of over a 3.0. 

Women's cross country had the highest team GPA with a 3.759.

Two other teams achieved over a 3.6 GPA: Women's Golf and Women's Tennis. Including the three teams previously mentioned, 13 additional teams posted GPAs over a 3.0: Men's Volleyball, Men's Golf, Softball, Baseball, Women's Lacrosse, Women's Basketball, Men's Tennis, Men's Soccer, Women's Volleyball, Women's Track & Field, Women's Soccer, Men's Cross Country, and Men's Lacrosse

The average team GPA was a 3.101, which marked the 17th straight semester with over a 3.0 GPA.

"We are so proud of the job that our student-athletes have done in the classroom.  They continue to achieve, semester after semester, demonstrating a commitment to excellence," said Vice President for Athletics Jeff Eisen.

There were also 28 student-athletes that had a perfect 4.0 GPA for the fall semester.

Student-athletes on the academic honor roll will be honored at halftime of the men's basketball game vs Barton on February 5 in Kornegay Arena. The Ceremony Will be streamed on the Trojan Sports Network as part of the men's basketball game.
