Softball's Kayla Allen was named the 2018 UMO Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year at the Trojan Globes, the annual awards ceremony, held on May 1, 2018.
A senior Recreational Therapy major from Benson, N.C., Allen led the Trojans in batting (.386), triples (10), hits (64), and RBI (27). Allen broke the career record for triples in a career this season as she finished with 15 triples for her career.
She earned a spot on the Conference Carolinas All-Academic Team as well as a spot on the All-Conference First-Team for her record-breaking performance during her senior season.
