Emma Burroughs has been selected as the University of Mount Olive Female Scholar-Athletes of the Month for the month of March.
A member of the women's tennis team, Burroughs is a senior Biology major and Chemistry minor who holds a 3.438 GPA. Burroughs plays the No. 6 singles and No. 3 doubles positions for the UMO women's tennis team.
The Trojans are currently 5-7 overall, 4-1 against conference competition, and sit fourth in the Conference Carolinas standings behind Emmanuel, Limestone, and Erskine. On the season, Burroughs has recorded a 2-2 record in singles action and is 1-0 in doubles.
Scholar-Athletes of the Month winners are nominated by University of Mount Olive faculty members and selected by a committee chaired by UMO math professor and faculty athletics representative Dr. Brenda Cates.
