Martin Bayles has been selected as the University of Mount Olive Male Scholar-Athlete of the Month for the month of February.
A member of the men's track & field team, Bayles is a Criminal Justice and Criminology major who holds a 3.528 GPA. The senior is an all-conference pole vaulter, long jumper, and javelin thrower for the UMO track and field program.
A native of Mount Olive, N.C., Bayles has garnered a slew of accolades and several school records in his various events. Bayles set a career mark in the pole vault during the 2018-2019 indoor season at the Liberty Kickoff where he hit a 4.55m mark (14'11").
