GAME RUNDOWN
- Mount Olive fell behind early as Catawba struck for three runs in the bottom of the first.
- Down 5-1 in the top of the fourth David Mayo broke the drought with a solo home run to give UMO a run.
- The Indians continued to expand on their lead with five more runs over the next two innings.
- Alvin Swoope picked up one of his two home runs on the night in the seventh as he drove two home making the Catawba lead 10-3.
- Catawba tacked on nine runs in the seventh putting the game out of reach for the Trojans.
- Swoope gave the Trojans their last bit of hope in the ninth as he belted another two-run home run but it was not enough as Mount Olive fell.
KEY STATS
- Braxton Shetley (0-2) picked up the loss on the hill for Mount Olive as he was unable to make it out of the third inning, allowing five runs on six hits and struck out four.
- Swoope led the way offensively as he went 2-for-4 with four RBI.
