GAME RUNDOWN

  • The Trojans opened the game with three runs in the opening frame as Jose Lopez scored the first run of the game with an RBI-single to right center scoring Surum from third.
  • Tony Salvaggio then came through to plate two more runs off an RBI-single to left and UMO had a 3-0 lead.
  • Mount Olive added another run in the third with Salvaggio's second RBI base hit of the night.
  • Catawba fought back to add two runs in the top of the sixth off a sacrifice fly and a base's loaded walk to bring the Trojan lead down to 4-2.
  • UMO answered in the bottom of the seventh with a Drew Ellis RBI-double and a Lopez RBI-single to take back the two runs they allowed the Indians to score and take a 6-2.

KEY STATS

  • Trey Pate (W 4-0) picked up the win going five and two-thirds allowing two runs, one earned, off five hits and struck out one.
