AIKEN, S.C. --- No. 7 University of Mount Olive baseball team battled back to defeat the Pacers of USC Aiken 21-14 on Saturday afternoon in Aiken, S.C.

  • Mount Olive saw themselves behind early as USC Aiken plated three runs in the bottom of the first.
  • The Trojans responded with a pair of runs in the top of the second as JT Stone scored on a wild pitch and Drew Ellis scored on an RBI-groundout by Justin Carroll.
  • The Pacers again proved to have the upper hand as they quickly added nine runs over the next two innings taking a 12-2 lead after the bottom of the third.
  • Carroll helped get UMO back on track with a two-run home run in the top of the fourth.
