MOUNT OLIVE, N.C. --- No. 5 University of Mount Olive took a doubleheader sweep from David and Elkins College at Scarborough Field on Saturday afternoon at Scarborough Field in Mount Olive, N.C.

GAME ONE
- Mount Olive got on the boards first as Jon Cosme singled through the right side to score Trae Sweeting in the bottom of the first and UMO led 1-0.
- UMO added solo runs in the second and fourth before having a big sixth inning.
- The sixth inning saw four runs cross including a solo home run by Justin Carroll and the Trojans jumped out to a 7-0 lead.
- The offensive attack did not slow down for Mount Olive in the eighth as Nate Estes and Carroll connected for a couple of home runs to extend the lead to 12-0.
- Davis & Elkins added two runs in the bottom of the ninth but Mount Olive held off the Senators attack and took the 12-2 game one win.
KEY STATS GAME 1
- Brighton Hudson (1-1) picked up the win in game one going eight complete allowing two hits while striking out 14 Senators.
- Justin Carroll led the Trojans going 4-for-5 from the plate with 2 RBI, two home runs, and four runs scored.
GAME TWO
- Game two started in a different fashion as the Senators jumped out in front of UMO 3-0 in the top of the first.
- Estes answered for Mount Olive by scoring Jon Cosme in the bottom half of the inning and brought the deficit down to two.
- Sweeting started the bottom of the third off in style as he motored around the bases for a lead-off triple to begin the inning. Cosme wasted no time as two pitches later the left fielder drove in Sweeting for the first run of the inning
- Estes followed in the footsteps of Sweeting by also getting to third via a triple and then scored on a Drew Ellis RBI-single through the left side and Mount Olive tied the game at three.
- In the bottom of the fifth following a lead-off single by Sweeting and a walk to Cosme, Estes cleared the bases and put UMO back in front 5-3.
- Mount Olive added an insurance run in the sixth in route to their 6-4 game two win.
KEY STATS GAME 2
- Braxton Shetley (2-0) picked up the win in game two going six and a third while striking out four.
- Zach Vennaro (S: 2) came in the seventh to close down the Senators for the save striking out one for his second save of the season.
- Estes led the offense with a three-RBI performance.
