UMO Baseball Earns No. 4 Seed In NCAA DII Baseball Southeast Regional

The No. 25 ranked University of Mount Olive has earned the No. 4 seed in the 2019 NCAA Division II Baseball Southeast Regional, it was announced by the NCAA Sunday night. Mount Olive will open regional play on Thursday at 8 p.m. Tigerville, S.C. against the No. 5 seed Lincoln Memorial.

Mount Olive received an at-large bid following a 31-17 regular season and a runners-up finish in the Conference Carolinas Championship.

The selection to the 2019 southeast regional marks the 17th appearance in the Division II tournament for the Trojans.

Joining the Trojans in the Southeast regional, are the top-seeded Crusaders of the North Greenville University, the No. two seed Newberry College Wolves, the third-seeded Indians of Catawba College, the fifth-seeded Railsplitters of Lincoln Memorial, and the No. six seed Young Harris College Mountain Lions.

The double-elimination southeast regional is broken down this year into two mini-brackets with the winner of each bracket playing a best-of-three super regional to determine the winner of the southeast region. Southeast regional #1 features the No. 1 seed North Greenville, No. 4 seed Mount Olive and No. 5 seed Lincoln Memorial, while the Southeast regional #2 feature the No. 2 seed. Newberry College, No. 3 seed Catawba, and No. 6 seed Young Harris.
