MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. - The University of Mount Olive Baseball program placed two on the 2019 Division II Conference Commissioners Association All-Southeast Region teams, it was announced by the association.
Joe Mason was named to the first-team, while JT Stone was named to the second-team. Both honors were the first for the Trojans in their careers.
Mason, a junior from Morehead City, N.C., leads the Trojans in average (.379), slugging percentage (.714), home runs (12), and sits tied with Stone for RBI (49). He is also second on the team in stolen bases with 10 bags. The Trojan left fielder was a Conference Carolinas First-Team All-Conference selection and Conference Carolinas Academic All-Conference and Presidential Honor Roll recipient.
Stone, a sophomore from Fayetteville, N.C., leads the team in walks with 34 and is second on the team in average (.357), hits (60), doubles (11), slugging percentage (.607), and is tied with teammate Joe Mason in RBI. He also is third on the team in home runs with nine. Stone joined his teammate as a Conference Carolinas First-Team All-Conference selection and Conference Carolinas Academic All-Conference and Presidential Honor Roll recipient.
The first team selections will move on to the All-America ballot. The D2CCA All-America programs honor student-athletes in Division II athletic programs. The mission of the CCA is to encourage and promote Division II athletics and high standards of sportsmanship as important elements of higher education.
