Mason And Stone Garner Post-Season Accolades

MOUNT OLIVE, N.C. - The University of Mount Olive Baseball program placed two on the 2019 National Collegiate Baseball Writers of America and America Baseball Coaches Association All-Southeast Region teams and All-American teams, it was announced by the association. 

Joe Mason was named NCBWA Honorable mention All-American and first-team all-region, while JT Stone was named to the ABCA second-team all-region. Both honors were the first for the Trojans in their careers.

Mason, a junior from Morehead City, N.C., led the Trojans in average (.379), slugging percentage (.714), home runs (12), and tied with Stone for RBI (49). He was also second on the team in stolen bases with 10 bags. The Trojan left fielder was a Conference Carolinas First-Team All-Conference selection and Conference Carolinas Academic All-Conference and Presidential Honor Roll recipient.

Stone, a sophomore from Fayetteville, N.C., led the team in walks with 34 and was second on the team in average (.357), hits (60), doubles (11), slugging percentage (.607), and tied with teammate Joe Mason in RBI. He was also third on the team in home runs with nine. Stone joined his teammate as a Conference Carolinas First-Team All-Conference selection and Conference Carolinas Academic All-Conference and Presidential Honor Roll recipient.
