UMO Field Hockey Falls to Queens 7-1

MOUNT OLIVE, North Carolina – The University of Mount Olive women's field hockey team dropped a 7-1 decision to Queens University (N.C.) in South Atlantic Conference Carolinas action Wednesday afternoon at the Ray McDonald Sr. Sports Complex.   
 
Game Information
The Royals of Queens jumped on the board early scoring in the first minute of the game and took the momentum adding three more goals before the quarter ended. Delaney Norr stopped the bleeding scoring the only goal for UMO five minutes into the second quarter, but QU scored another goal to take a 5-1 lead at the break. The Trojans held the Royals off the boards in the third but allowed two scores in the second as Queens University finished the game off 7-1 over Mount Olive.

 
Trojan Leaders
Delaney Norr led the Trojans with three shots, two on frame, and the lone score for UMO.

Victoria Lane (1-3, 1-2) in the cage for the Trojans recorded 10 saves on 17 shots on goal.

Royal Leaders
Queens was led by Hanna Nechay with her two scores as she was perfect from the field.

Key Moment
The first quarter run by Queens that saw four goals scored within the first 10 minutes took the momentum from the start and did not allow Mount Olive a chance to get their offense going.
