UMO Field Hockey Falls To Belmont Abbey 2-0

MOUNT OLIVE, North Carolina – The University of Mount Olive women's field hockey team fell to Belmont Abbey College 2-0 in South Atlantic Conference Carolinas action Wednesday afternoon at the Ray McDonald Sr. Sports Complex in Mount Olive, N.C.   
 
Game Information
Neither team was able to find a goal in the opening frame but the Crusaders of Belmont Abbey took the scoring momentum at the 23:52 mark in the second. UMO was unable to register a shot in the second quarter and while a goal was not scored in the third, BAC took control for good with an insurance goal in the 58th minute.

 
Trojan Leaders
Delaney Norr led the Trojans with two shots, both on frame.

Victoria Lane (1-5, 1-3 SACC) in the cage for the Trojans recorded 12 saves on 14 shots on goal.

Crusaders Leaders
Belmont Abbey was led by Abbey Playle with her two assists to go along with her six shots as she helped both Baumeier and Delisi score the Crusaders only goals.

Key Moment
The second-quarter goal by Belmont Abbey proved to be the game-winner.
