Trojan Field Hockey Drops To Newberry 6-0

NEWBERRY, South Carolina – The University of Mount Olive women's field hockey team fell to Newberry College 6-0 in South Atlantic Conference Carolinas action Thursday afternoon at Setzler Field in Newberry, N.C.   
 
Game Information
The first quarter was a scoreless event as neither team could convert as Newberry fired nine shots in the first frame. Newberry was able to strike first in the second quarter in the 23rd minute off a rebound and took a 1-0 lead into the half. The third quarter was where the Wolves took the momentum scoring five goals and put the game well out of reach for the Trojans take the final score 6-0.

 
Trojan Leaders
Delaney Norr led the Trojans with two shots, with one on frame.

Victoria Lane (1-6, 1-4 SACC) in the cage for the Trojans recorded 12 saves on 18 shots on goal.

Wolves Leaders
Newberry was led by Kristyna Oyola who registered eight shots, seven on goal, with a goal and one assist.

Key Moment
Despite the second-quarter goal being the first goal that would end up being the game-winner the third quarter that had five goals pushed home by Newberry proved to be the deciding blow in the game to seal the win for the Wolves.
