UMO Field Hockey Drops 4-0 Battle On The Road To Limestone

GAFFNEY, South Carolina – The University of Mount Olive women's field hockey team fell to Limestone College 4-0 in South Atlantic Conference Carolinas action Thursday afternoon at Saints Field in Gaffney, S.C.   
 
Game Information
The first quarter was a scoreless event until late, with under five to play, when Limestone broke the tie with the game's first goal. The Saints fired in 12 shots during the opening quarter but UMO held the home 11 to just the one score. Neither team found the back of the cage in the second, but Mount Olive was able to record their first shot in the quarter and the half ended with the Saints up 1-0. The third quarter saw LC add a score and then two more in the fourth as Mount Olive could not find another shot in the game and fell 4-0.

 
Trojan Leaders
Railyn King led the Trojans with the only shot recorded by UMO.

Victoria Lane (1-7, 1-5 SACC) in the cage for the Trojans recorded 10 saves on 14 shots on goal.

Saints Leaders
Limestone was led by Keeghan Keracher who scored two of LC's four goals off five shots.

Key Moment
The first goal scored in the first quarter proved to be the deciding blow as UMO was only able to register one shot, in the second quarter, and Limestone took the momentum from the get-go.
