Trojan Field Hockey Falls To Converse 3-0

SPARTANBURG, South Carolina – The University of Mount Olive women's field hockey team was defeated 3-0 by Converse College in South Atlantic Conference Carolinas action Saturday afternoon at Vikings Field in Spartanburg, S.C.   
 
Game Information
The first half saw neither team able to record a goal and only the Valkyries of Converse able to register a shot. After a stalemate Converse found the go-ahead goal in the third quarter two minutes in and quickly added a second three minutes later. A third goal in the fourth sealed the win as UMO was shutout and only managed one shot during the game in the final quarter.

 
Trojan Leaders
Catherine Wilson led the Trojans with the only shot recorded by UMO.

Victoria Lane (1-8, 1-6 SACC) in the cage for the Trojans recorded three saves on six shots on goal.

Valkyrie Leaders
Converse was led by Morgan Bryant who scored two of CC's three goals off three shots.

Key Moment
The first goal scored in the third quarter proved to be the deciding blow as UMO was only able to register one shot, in the fourth quarter, and Converse took the game.

Up Next: Mount Olive will return home to take on Newberry College October 9 at 4 p.m. in conference play at the Ray McDonald Sr. Sports Complex.
