UMO Field Hockey Falls On Senior Day

MOUNT OLIVE, North Carolina – The University of Mount Olive women's field hockey team fell to the Saints of Limestone College 4-0 in South Atlantic Conference Carolinas action Saturday afternoon at Ray McDonald Sr. Sports Complex in Mount Olive, N.C. It was also senior day for Cyani Wheeler as the senior was honored before the match for her service to the program.
 
Game Information
The first quarter Limestone found an opening in the first five minutes of play as a shot went under the Trojan keeper's legs and they took the 1-0 lead. Almost eight minutes later the Saints doubled their lead with a second goal. The second quarter LC outshot UMO 12-to-2 and added a third goal. the third quarter remained quite but the fourth saw Limestone add one final goal to all but seal up the 4-0 win.


Trojan Leaders
Delaney Norr led the Trojans with five shots, three on frame.

Victoria Lane (1-11, 1-9 SACC) in the cage for the Trojans recorded nine saves on 16 shots on goal.

Saint Leaders
Limestone was led by Gwendolyn Lewis who scored two of LC's four goals off six shots.

Key Moment
The opening quarter of play proved to be the deciding factor as the deficit was too great to come back from.

Up Next: Mount Olive hits the road for its' final two games of the season. The Trojans will take on Belmont Abbey College October 31 at 4 p.m. in Belmont, N.C.
