UMO Field Hockey Drops Road Contest To Belmont Abbey 6-0

DAVIDSON, North Carolina – The University of Mount Olive women's field hockey team fell to the Crusaders of Belmont Abbey College 6-0 in South Atlantic Conference Carolinas action Wednesday afternoon in Davidson, N.C.
 
Game Information
In the first quarter, Belmont Abbey found an opening and scored in the 7th minute and took the 1-0 lead. Almost 11 minutes later the Crusaders doubled their lead with a second goal in the second quarter and started a string of three more unanswered goals to take a 4-0 advantage into the break. The third quarter saw BAC add two more scores to ensure a victory and a scoreless final quarter ended Mount Olive chance to strive for a comeback and they fell 6-0.


Trojan Leaders
Delaney Norr led the Trojans with two shots, both on frame.

Victoria Lane (1-12, 1-10 SACC) in the cage for the Trojans recorded 20 saves on 26 shots on goal.

Crusader Leaders
Belmont Abbey was led by Lauren Delisi who scored two of BAC's six goals off two shots.

Key Moment
The opening quarter of play proved to be the deciding factor as the deficit was too great to come back from.

Up Next: Mount Olive remains on the road for its' final game of the season. The Trojans will take on Queens University on November 2 at 2 p.m. in Charlotte, N.C.
