Men's Basketball Falls To King 85-50

University of Mount Olive fell to King University 85-50 in Bristol, Tenn. Saturday night in Conference Carolinas men's basketball. Trojans were unable to comeback from a 21 point deficit in the first half.

Mount Olive (13-9 Overall, 8-6 Conference Carolinas) fell behind early as King (16-5, 11-2) hit back-to-back three-pointers to open up the game. The Trojans were able to keep the Tornado lead to single digits for a majority of the first half until King made a big run midway through. After a Dontrell Brite three-pointer with 10:18, King opened up an 11-2 run that pushed the lead to 30-17 with 5:45 remaining.

Jamaal Matin was able to stop the run with a jumper with 4:44 left. The Tornado proved to be too much as the first half ended with a 9-0 and King led 44-23.

The second half did not see a Mount Olive comeback as the King lead never fell below 20 for the remainder of the game.

Dominique Reed led the Trojans with 10 points and five rebounds.
