TIGERVILLE, S.C. - The University of Mount Olive men's basketball team defeated the Crusaders of North Greenville University 61-54 on Monday afternoon in Conference Carolinas action at Hayes Gymnasium in Tigerville, S.C.

How It Happened
Play-by-Play
FIRST HALF
- The game opened up with the home Crusaders going on an 11-0 run through the opening three and a half minutes.
- UMO got on the board after five minutes of action on a three-pointer drained by Cameron Robinson at the 15:17 mark.
- NGU grew their lead back to 12 points, 17-5, before the Trojans went on a 13-2 run to pull within a point, 19-18, with just under seven minutes to play.
- The Trojans tied the game up at 21 all two minutes later and took their first lead of the game on a layup by Tyler Thomas at 4:27.
- A scrum for control of the scoreboard ensued as the score tied four more times before the half with the Crusaders holding the 30-29 lead over UMO.
SECOND HALF
- UMO scored five points in the opening three minutes to hold the 34-33 lead but NGU countered with an 8-0 run to reclaim the lead and go up by seven, 41-34.
- Senior Tayon Gleaves hit a jump shot at 13-minute mark to end the Trojan scoreless drought and spur a Mount Olive 10-3 run to tie the game at 44 all with 9:36 remaining on a three-pointer by Cameron Robinson.
- Another three by Robinson put UMO up by one, 47-46, and started a seven-point run by the Trojans to give them a 52-46 lead with 5:44 to play.
- NGU came back to tie the game once more at 52 all with 4:45 on the clock, but Mount Olive closed out the remaining minutes on a 9-2 run to win 61-54 and remain undefeated in Conference Carolinas action.
KEY STATS
- Cameron Robinson, Jamaal Matin and Dominique Tham all scored in double digits with 19, 13 and 10 respectively.
- Tham led all rebounders with 11 for his fifth double-double of the season.
- The Trojans had eight fewer turnovers, 8-16, which contributed to the 21-9 points off of turnovers difference against NGU.
- Mount Olive's bench pulled through again scoring a respectable 36 points compared to North Greenville's 13.
