Men's Basketball Falls to Barton College 84-61

WILSON, North Carolina - The University of Mount Olive men's basketball team fell to Barton College 84-61 in Conference Carolinas action Saturday night. The Bulldogs improve to 13-13 overall and 11-8 in the conference, while Mount Olive falls to 15-11, 9-9.

INSIDE THE SCORE
Barton opened the contest scoring the first five points before UMO responded with two points of their own to draw the early deficit to 5-2 with 17:55 remaining. The Bulldogs maintained their lead for the entirety of the first half not allowing Mount Olive a chance to tie the game and took a 42-20 lead into the break

The second half began with a Trojan basket at the 19:39 mark and brought the deficit down to 48-24.  Mount Olive outscored the Bulldogs in the second half, but it would not be enough to overcome the first-half deficit and the Trojans fell 84-61.

MOUNT OLIVE LEADERS
The Trojans were led by Darius Spragley with 11 points. 

BARTON LEADERS
The Bulldogs were led by Isaiah Reddish with 27 points. Michael Boykin and Blake Burdack had double-digit scoring performances with 18 and 13 points.

KEY MOMENT
The key moment of the game was the entire first half when Barton jumped out to a 43-20 lead, one that was not to be overcome, and took control of the game from the start and utilized that to win the contest 84-61,
