No. 47 Men's Golf Takes Second At The Trojan

No. 47 University of Mount Olive men's golf team finished second after the final round of The Trojan hosted by the University Mount Olive at Lane Tree Golf Club in Goldsboro, N.C. Tuesday. Mount Olive placed seven golfers in the top-15.

Nick Adams (73-71-74-218) led the Trojans as he finished 5th out of 46 golfers. Brady Hollenbacher (74-74-74-222) finished tied for 6th, jumping four spots from his first day card. Liam McAnally (71-76-76-223) finished just behind Hollenbacher as he tied for 9th. Harry Bayley (76-71-79-226) finished tied for 11th. John Thatch (76-78-80-234) rounded out the Trojan scorecard as he finshed 26th.

As a team Mount Olive shot 294-292-303-889 and trailed 39 strokes behind tournament Champion Newberry College (282-283-285-850). Harry Bolton from Newberry (70-70-68-209) took home the individual championship.

Mount Olive also had a second team of Jose RamirezBlake FloarsRicky Gutierrez, and Markus Proesch competing in the tournament.

Ramirez (77-72-80-229) led the team as he finished tied for 18th. Gutierrez (84-77-80-241) finished 34th, Floars (79-79-93-251) and Proesch (84-83-84-251) rounded out Mount Olive's second team as they both finished tied for 39th. As a team Mount Olive shot 324-311-337-972 landing them in 8th place.

Mount Olive will have the week off as the Trojans prepare for the Conference Carolinas Championship. The tournament is set to begin on April 17. Full details on the championship can be found here
