SNOW HILL, N.C. --- The University of Mount Olive men's golf team will kick off their run for a conference championship this weekend in Snow Hill, N.C. at the Cutter Creek Golf Club.

Over the three day tournament, UMO will look to capture its first-ever Conference Carolinas team title. The last time Mount Olive had an individual champion was in 2016 when John Thatch took home the title.

This season the Trojans have finished as high as second, in their home tournament The Trojan, and also had top-10 finishes at the Myrtle Beach Intercollegiate (7th/14) and Donald Ross Intercollegiate (t7th/14).

The lowest 54-hole score UMO has put together over the season has been 887 at the Donald Ross Intercollegiate, but their lowest single round score came at Myrtle Beach when the Trojans shot a 288 in the final round.

Junior Patrick Schweitz has led the team this year and has come close to a tournament win with his highest finish being at The Trojan where he finished second.

Arthur Heinbach and Brice Ballin have also had solid years with two top-10 finishes to help keep the Trojans in contention.

The 2019 Conference Carolinas Championship will take place over three days with live scoring being available on GolfStat.
