No. 8 Trojans Tame Lions  23-2

No. 8 University of Mount Olive defeated Emmanuel College 23-2 on senior day at Amon Field for Conference Carolinas men's lacrosse Saturday afternoon. The Trojans erupted for 15 straight goals in the first half.

Mount Olive (11-2 Overall, 5-0 Conference Carolinas) came out of the gates on fire. Ryan Morris put the Trojans on the board with 11:10 left in the first quarter. The goal sparked an opening 15 goal run by Mount Olive. Thirteen different Trojans scored during the run and Mount Olive did not look back.

The Run was highlighted by Davyd Powell and Dylan Lowenstein recording their first career goals as a Trojan.

Emmanuel did not allow Mount Olive to shut out the Lions as Nolan Duncan scored to start off the third quarter. The Lions added one more goal, however, they could make a comeback as the Trojans added eight more goals.

Vincent Cardella, Evan Floyd, and Ryan Morris led the Trojans with three goals apiece. Tyler Feniello led the defense with 11 groundballs and was a perfect 20-for-20 in face-offs. 

Ross Bowman (11-2) and Will Urban split time in goal with both recording two saves in goal. 

Mount Olive will host Queens University Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Amon Field.
