Belmont, N.C. – The 9th-ranked University of Mount Olive men's lacrosse team fell to No. 6 Belmont Abbey 16-4 on Saturday afternoon in Belmont, N.C.

FIRST QUARTER

  • The first quarter was all Belmont Abbey as the Crusaders opened up a 5-0 advantage.

SECOND QUARTER

  • The Crusaders' offense was slowed in the second quarter with only two goals, however Mount Olive was held scoreless heading into halftime.

THIRD QUARTER

  • UMO's Cody Graden finally halted the Belmont Abbey run with the Trojans first goal with 11:40 left in the third quarter to decrease the Crusaders' lead to 9-1.
  • Davyd Powell brought the Trojans closer moments later with 10:24 remaining with his unassisted goal.
  • BAC ended the half on a 4-0 run to extend the Crusaders lead to 13-2.

FOURTH QUARTER

  • The Trojans scored two goals in the fourth but were unable to complete a comeback as Mount Olive fell 16-4.

KEY STATS

  • Mount Olive had four different Trojans record a goal in the game.
  • Junior Will Urban (5-2) suffered the loss in between the pipes with seven saves.
