MOUNT OLIVE, N.C. – The 15th-ranked University of Mount Olive men's lacrosse team defeated the Cavaliers of Walsh University 11-3 in non-conference action Tuesday afternoon at Ray McDonald Sr. Sports Complex in Mount Olive, N.C.

Play-by-Play
FIRST QUARTER
- Mount Olive scored first in a defensive first quarter as Brody Sullivan found the back of the net with 6:42.
- As was the tale for most of the quarter Mount Olive was not able to strike for another goal until four seconds left in the opening frame and the Trojans took a 2-0 lead into the second.
SECOND QUARTER
- Gunner Parson started the scoring for UMO at the 8:56 mark and added a second goal from Tyler Keele with 6:21 left before Walsh stopped the bleeding.
- The Cavaliers found an answer with just under two minutes to play and drew the deficit to 4-1.
- Nathan Bradley responded a minute later to put UMO back up by four and the Trojans took their 5-1 lead into halftime.
THIRD QUARTER
- The third quarter saw Mount Olive outscore Walsh 4-to-2 with scores from Connor Watson (13:15), Austin Whitlow (11:22), Keele (7:52), and Parson (4:36) as the Trojans took firm control of the game leading 9-3 going into the final quarter
FOURTH QUARTER
- The final frame became much like the first as only two goals were scored as Thatcher Clark (5:31) and Nathan Bradley (1:32) put home the final goals of the contest and UMO took the final 11-3.
KEY STATS
- Nathan Bradley, Thatcher Clark, Gunner Parson, and Tyler Keele all tied for the team lead in goals with two.
- Brady Elbin led the defense with three caused turnovers and also picked up three groundballs.
- Between the posts, Andrew Avarello (W: 4-1) picked up the win, making 12 saves on 15 shots.

Mount Olive will return to action March, 9 when the Trojans will host Florida Southern College at the Ray McDonald Sr. Sports Complex in Mount Olive, N.C. The first face-off is set for 12 p.m.
