Avarello Named Conference Carolinas Men's Lacrosse Player Of The Week

HIGH POINT, N.C. - Mount Olive's Andrew Avarello of the men's lacrosse team was named the Conference Carolinas Men's Lacrosse Player of the Week for the week of March 4-10 as announced by the league office.

Avarello, a sophomore from Clarence, N.Y., led the No. 15 Trojans to a 2-0 record last week after collecting 30 saves and a 73.2 save percentage with seven ground balls in 120 minutes of action last week.

The sophomore began his week by helping UMO to an 11-3 win over Walsh where he allowed only three goals with 12 saves and two ground balls. He then ended the week by coming up big in a 12-8 win over Florida Southern, as he made 18 saves in the game with five ground balls.

Avarello currently ranks first in the Conference Carolinas in both goals against average (7.24) and save percentage (61.8), while ranking third in goals against (42) and fourth in saves (68).
