MOUNT OLIVE, N.C. – The 12th-ranked University of Mount Olive men's lacrosse team fell to the No. 8 Belmont Abbey College Crusaders Conference Carolinas action Saturday afternoon at Alumni Field in Belmont, N.C.

How It Happened
Play-by-Play
FIRST QUARTER
- Mount Olive saw the Crusaders take the early lead with 13:27 as Liam Osborne scored.
- Gunner Parson helped tie the game with 12:13 left in the quarter but the led did not stand for long.
- BAC proceeded to go on four-goal stretch to end the quarter and took a 5-1 lead into the second.
SECOND QUARTER
- The Crusaders continued their run by scoring the first goal of the second 39 seconds into the quarter.
- UMO answered at the 13:23 mark with an unassisted goal by Brody Sullivan to decrease the deficit to 6-2.
- Belmont Abbey responded with a goal with 9:23 left before halftime.
- Connor Watson and Thatcher Clark both found the back of the net with under five and a half to play to bring the Crusader lead down to 7-4 with 2:02.
- BAC ended the quarter with a score at the 1:18 mark and took a four-goal lead into the break.
THIRD QUARTER
- UMO started the third with a goal by Parson but once again the Crusaders used another bug run pushing home four goals to jump out to a 12-5 advantage with 4:36 left in the quarter.
- Jacob Williams ended the scoring for the quarter and Mount Olive trailed 12-6.
FOURTH QUARTER
- In the fourth, the scoring cooled off as a Belmont Abbey score was sandwiched around two Mount Olive goals and a Trojan comeback was not to be and UMO fell 13-8.
KEY STATS
- Gunner Parson led the team in goals with three and added two groundballs and a caused turnover.
- Between the posts, Andrew Avarello (L: 7-2) picked up the loss, making eight saves on 21 shots.

Mount Olive will return to action April, 6 when the Trojans will host Lindenwood at the Ray McDonald Sr. Sports Complex. The first face-off is set for 12 p.m.
