Mount Olive Cruises To A 4-1 Road Victory Over North Greenville

University of Mount Olive explodes for a four goal offensive outburst to take a 4-1 decision from North Greenville Friday night in Tigerville, S.C. for Conference Carolinas men's Soccer. Four different Trojans scored in the match.

Mount Olive (4-8-2 Overall, 2-4 Conference Carolinas) started the offensive attack off first. The Trojans' Edrisa Chune scored his second career goal in the 18th minute off a feed from Kevin Williams Lopez and found pay dirt.

Four minutes later the offensive attack continued as Williams Lopez, after on assisting on the game's first goal got his chance to cash in. He found an open piece of the net a struck it in with some help from Daouda Sanoh and Mount Olive was quickly up 2-0.

With the final seconds ticking down in the first period another Trojan looked to attack and push Mount Olive out further. Nikoli Iotov, with :54 left in the opening period took a shot against the North Greenville (0-12, 0-8) keeper but he was just able to keep it out of the back of the net. However he allowed Azzam Dhamra to give Iotov another opportunity for a shot, one he did not miss as he pounded it into the back of the net and the Trojans took a commanding 3-0 lead.

Mount Olive did not allow the lead to switch hands for the remainder of the game but did however add some more cushion late in the second period.

T.J. Merrick provided the final spark the Trojans in the 81st minute as he found himself a piece of the pie for the fourth goal of the game.

The crusaders did not let their offense go without a score as just over a minute later Ara Zadoorian was taken out in the box and the referee made the call for a penalty kick. Zadoorian was able to oust the Trojan keeper and the ball found the back of the net for the sole goal of the contest for North Greenville.

Josip Granic recorded his first career start as a Trojan keeper and played the full 90 minutes with three saves.

Mount Olive returns the pitch on Wednesday when the Trojans face Belmont Abbey in Belmont, N.C. Match time is set for 1 p.m.
