MOUNT OLIVE, N.C. - The University of Mount Olive men's soccer team defeated King University 3-0 in Conference Carolinas men's soccer action Saturday afternoon at Amon Field.

Play-by-Play
First Half
- Mount Olive jumped on the boards early as Nikolai Iotov punched in the game's first goal in the 16th minute.
- The second goal of the game was scored in an unusual way as the King keeper went for a clearing goal kick. The ball, however, ricocheted off of a Tornado defender and bounced backward into the net for an own goal and UMO led 2-0.
- Shortly after being substituted into the match Daniel Olaniran recorded his first career goal in a Trojan uniform in the 42nd minute to give Mount Olive a three-goal lead heading into halftime.
Second Half
- Mount Olive was able to hold King off the scoreboard in the second half limiting the Tornado to seven shots, one on goal, to secure the 3-0 win.
