RALEIGH, North Carolina – The University of Mount Olive men's soccer team defeated the Bears of Shaw University 2-0 on the road en route to picking up their first win of the season in non-conference action Wednesday night in Raleigh, N.C.

Game Information
The Trojans, who were coming off a loss in their previous game saw their offense stall for the entire first half recording four shots but no scores. Mount Olive continued to press and found the go-ahead goal in the 70th minute when Alfie Pope registered a shot past the SU keeper to finally break the tie.

Not much time past, 5:04 to be exact, before Trevor Berk found Pope again open for another Trojan goal and all but sealed the match for the green and black.

The Bears added a last ditch effort with a corner kick in the 76th minute, but the UMO defense held strong and kept the Bears at bay not allowing a hint of a score for the remainder of the game.
