Trojans Fall To Newberry 1-0 In Road Battle

NEWBERRY, South Carolina. – The University of Mount Olive men's soccer team fell to the Lions of Emmanuel College 1-0 in overtime on the road in Conference Carolinas action Saturday afternoon in Franklin Springs, Ga.
 
Game Information
The two teams exchanged shots in the opening period before Newberry was able to score the first goal in the 36th minute off a deflection scoring on an open net. Mount Olive was able to put on seven shots in the second half but could not find an answer and fell 1-0.

 
Trojan Leaders
Mount Olive was led by Alfie Pope who recorded four shots for the Trojans.

Iwan Roberts (1-3) in goal for the Trojans recorded one saves on two shots playing all 90 minutes.

Wolves Leaders
Newberry was led by Daniel Reyes who led the team with his game-winning goal.

The golden goal by Belmont Abbey in the 36th minute was the deciding factor as the goal was the only one scored in the match.
