MOUNT OLIVE, North Carolina. – The University of Mount Olive men's soccer team came up with a double-overtime draw with the Bobcats of Lees-McRae College 4-4 at Amon Field in Conference Carolinas action Saturday afternoon in Mount Olive, N.C.

Game Information
Mount Olive took the early momentum off an Alfie Pope chip shot over the Bobcat keeper in the 14th minute and look poised to hold the lead heading into the half. Lees-McRae, however, answered 3:56 later to knot the game. The Bobcats ended up pushing home two more goals before the halftime horn and the momentum shifted all towards LMC.

In the second half, Pope came up with another goal for the Trojans with a header in the 59th minute off a Trojan corner. In the 62nd minute, Lees-McRae went down a man after a Bobcat was ejected and UMO made them pay with a game-tying goal by MacLayne Gairrett in the 66th minute.

The back and forth game continued as LMC took the lead back in the 78th minute sneaking a goal past the Trojan defense, but a lack of good defensive lay by the Bobcats at the 82:00 mark gave UMO a penalty kick opportunity. Arthur Lucas made good on the opportunity and knotted the game again at four.

The game went into two overtime periods but neither team found the golden goal and the game ended in a draw.
