Trojans Fall To No. 7 Francis Marion 3-1

MOUNT OLIVE, North Carolina. – The University of Mount Olive men's soccer team came up short falling 3-1 to No. 7 Francis Marion University at Amon Field in non-conference action Wednesday night in Mount Olive, N.C.
 
Game Information
Mount Olive held the Patriots potent attack off the boards in the first half despite being outshot 9-to-3. Francis Marion was able to sneak the game's first goal home in the 69th minute and proceeded to step on the accelerator pushing home two more goals. The FMU goals in the 80th and 84th minutes put the game out of reach but the Trojans did not go down without a fight.

Arthur Lucas was fouled inside the box in the final thirty seconds and was awarded a penalty kick opportunity that he made good on to prevent the shutout. 


Trojan Leaders
Mount Olive was led by Arthur Lucas who recorded  UMO's sole goal on two shots for the Trojans.

Iwan Roberts (1-4-1) in goal for the Trojans recorded three saves on six shots playing all 90 minutes.

Patriot Leaders
Francis Marion was led by Sidney Warden who led the team with one goal and an assist on three shots.
