Men's Soccer Shutout By Bulldogs Of Wingate

MOUNT OLIVE, North Carolina – The University of Mount Olive men's soccer team was defeated by Wingate University 7-0 in non-conference action under the lights Wednesday night at Amon Field in Mount Olive, N.C.   
 
Game Information
The first half saw Wingate's potent offense strike for three goals in the sixth, 20th, and 35th minutes taking control of the game from the early onset. The second half produced four more scores for the Bulldogs and the game became well in hand for Wingate. 

UMO record two shots in the first half and was able to push for two more than they did in the first in the second frame but were outshot 15-to-6 with no shot finding the back of the net.

 
Trojan Leaders
Anthony Wren, off the bench, led the team with two shots, both on frame.

Iwan Roberts (2-5-1) in goal for the Trojans recorded six saves on 13 shots on goal.

Bulldog Leaders
Wingate was led by Paul Ngongo who scored two of WU's seven goals and had an assist off two shots.

Key Moment
The first goal scored by Wingate proved to be the game-winning as the remaining scores put up by the Bulldogs served as insurance en route to the win.
