UMO Trojan Soccer Falls To Rival Barton 7-1

WILSON, North Carolina – The University of Mount Olive men's soccer team saw an early lead deflated by Barton College as the Bulldogs took down the Trojans 7-1 in Conference Carolinas action Wednesday in Wilson, N.C.   
 
Game Information
The Trojans came into the contest and grabbed the momentum as Trevor Berk connected with the back of the net in the 18th minute with a shot from the left side of the box. Barton, however, did not squander an opportunity to knot the game at one in the 21st minute. The Bulldogs' Ruben Mancio hit the game-winner in the 29th minute and started what ended up being a six-goal run by Barton to end the game as BC took the 7-1 win.

 
Trojan Leaders
Trevor Berk was the leader for UMO as the only Trojan goal-scorer in the contest.

Iwan Roberts (2-7-1, 1-3-1) in goal for the Trojans recorded five saves on 11 shots on goal.

Bulldog Leaders
Barton was led by Omar Aboutaleb who scored a hattrick for the Bulldogs.

Key Moment
The second goal scored by Barton started the momentum and led to what would be six unanswered goals. 


Up Next: Mount Olive will return home to Amon Field to host North Greenville University at 4 p.m. on October 19. It will also be senior day for Justin Bellamy, MacLayne Gairriett, Charles Griggs, Andrew Martin, Anthony Wren, and Lewis Xiberras.
