Henric Falkenberg, Stan Roffe and Lautaro Vazquez each dropped only one game to help lead regionally seventh-ranked University of Mount Olive to an 8-1 victory in non-conference men's tennis Thursday at Walker Tennis Center. The win kept the Trojans unbeaten against non-Division I teams this season.
Mount Olive (6-1) led 3-0 after doubles play and clinched the team win after wins by Matt Finnerty at No. 2 singles and Falkenberg at No. 3 singles. Finnerty won 6-3, 6-3 and Falkenberg posted a 6-0, 6-1 win. Roffe won 6-1, 6-0 at No. 4 singles and Vazquez won 6-1, 6-0 at No. 6 singles.
The Trojans open Conference Carolinas play this weekend with a pair of Conference Carolinas matches at Walker Tennis Center. Mount Olive plays host to Erskine Saturday and King Sunday.
