No. 24 Men's Tennis Defeats Bluefield 9-0

Nationally 24th-ranked University of Mount Olive dropped only four games in the Nos. 3-6 singles flights as the Trojans defeated Bluefield College 9-0 in non-conference men's tennis Wednesday at Walker Tennis Center. The win was the Mount Olive's (5-3) fifth in a row against non-Division I opposition.

Martim Sousa won 6-1, 6-0 at No. 3 singles, Stanley Roffe posted a 6-0, 6-2 win at No. 4 singles, Sherzod Akramov won 6-1, 6-0 at No. 5 singles and Matheus Ribeiro won 6-0, 6-0 at No. 6 singles. The Trojans also won the top two singles flights and swept doubles play.

Mount Olive returns to action Friday as the Trojans travel to Florence, S.C., to take on nationally 35th-ranked Francis Marion. Match time is 2:30 p.m.
