No. 32 Trojans Clinch Share Of Second Straight Conference Carolinas Men's Tennis Regular Season Title

Nationally 32nd-ranked University of Mount Olive clinched at least a share of its second straight regular season conference title with a 9-0 victory over Erskine College in Conference Carolinas men's tennis Saturday at Amon Field. The win was the Trojans' 12th in a row.

Mount Olive (14-3 overall, 9-0 Conference Carolinas) took a 3-0 lead after doubles and needed only two singles wins to clinch the team victory. Lautaro Vazquez (No. 4 singles), Martim Sousa (No. 5 singles) and Matheus Ribiero (No. 6 singles) dropped only a combined four games in their wins, each winning one set at love.

The Trojans are one win away from going unbeaten in conference play for the second consecutive year.

Mount Olive concludes regular season play Tuesday as the Trojans play host to Barton in Conference Carolinas men's tennis. The Trojans hold a 1 1/2 game lead over the Bulldogs in the conference standings. Match time is 2 p.m. at Walker Tennis Center.
