No. 43 Men's Tennis Falls To Division I Campbell 8-1

Martin Moser rallied from a first set loss for a three-set win at No. 2 singles, but University of Mount Olive fell to Division I Campbell University 8-1 in non-conference men's tennis Tuesday at Walker Tennis Center. The Trojans are ranked No. 43 in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Division II National Top 50.

After dropping the opening set 6-1, Moser came back to post a 6-3 win in the second set. He won the 10-game pro set 10-7.

Mount Olive (6-3) dropped the three doubles matches by only a combined seven games, but it was enough for Campbell (6-7) to take a 3-0 lead. The Camels won five of six singles matches to seal the overall win.

Sherzod Akramov went three sets at No. 6 singles before falling 4-6, 6-4, 10-5. Martim Sousa took both sets to the wire at No. 3 singles, but fell by identical 7-5 scores.

Mount Olive returns to action Saturday morning as the Trojans play host to Limestone College in a Conference Carolinas match-up. Match time is 11 a.m. at Walker Tennis Center.
