Men's Tennis Defeats Lees-McRae 9-0

University of Mount Olive defeated Lees-McRae 9-0 Saturday afternoon in Conference Carolinas men's tennis in Banner Elk, N.C. The Trojans dropped only one set.

Mount Olive (9-3 Overall, 6-0 Conference Carolinas) started off the match on the right foot as Sherzod Akramov and Ogulcan Deniz took #1 doubles 8-7. Martim Sousa and Jose Luis Cortijos continued with a 8-7 win in #2 doubles. The Trojans took the final doubles match 8-2 and looked to win the match in singles.

Deniz started Mount Olive off in #1 singles and defeated Lees-McRae's (0-13, 0-8) Joao Araujo 8-4 and moved the Trojans up by four. Martin Moser won #3 singles 8-1, Yannic Stark took #4 singles 6-1, 6-3 and Jacob Clarke took #6 singles 6-2, 4-6, 6-0 as Mount Olive swept the Bobcats in straight matches.

Mount Olive will return home this Friday to host North Greenville at the Walker Tennis Center at 2 p.m.
