Men's And Women's Tennis Defeat Southern Wesleyan

University of Mount Olive Men's and Women's Tennis teams both defeated Southern Wesleyan University 8-1 and 6-3 respectively at the Walker Tennis Center in Mount Olive, N.C. fin Conference Carolinas Tennis Saturday.

On the men's side Mount Olive dropped the #3 singles match before coming back to take the remaining six matches in a row and take the match 8-1. Ogulcan Deniz, Jose Luis CortijosMartim SousaYannic Stark, and Sherzod Akramov all won their individual singles matches. 

Mount Olive then went on to win doubles in order as Deniz and Akramov won #1 doubles 8-1, Cortijos and Sousa took #2 doubles 8-3, and Moser and Stark took #3 doubles 8-5.

On the women's side Mount Olive took the first singles matches. Stella DiMichele won #1 Singles, Paulina Delgado won #3 singles, and Nicole La Chappelle picked up the win in #6 singles by default as Southern Wesleyan did not have a competitior of La Chappelle.

The Trojan duos of DiMichelle and Hernandez and Delgado and Jennifer Byrd won #1 and #2 doubles. Another default win in #3 doubles secured the win for Mount Olive.

Mount Olive will host Pfeiffer University at the Walker Tennis Center April 19. Both men's and women's matches are set to begin at 2 p.m. in Mount Olive, N.C.
