Men's Tennis Falls To Division I East Carolina 7-2

University of Mount Olive fell to Division I East Carolina University 7-2 in non-conference men's tennis in Greenville, N.C. Wednesday afternoon. Trojans took No. 4 singles after trailing 5-1 to stop the Pirates momentum.

Mount Olive fell behind early as East Carolina took the first two doubles matches. The duo of Yannic Stark and Martin Moser gave the Trojans their first doubles win. Mount Olive looked for a comeback heading into singles play.

The Pirates, however continued their hot streak as they took the first three singles matches. Martim Sousa picked up Mount Olive's sole singles victory in No. 4 singles. Sousa defeated William Himpe 6-2, 6-4.

The Trojans were unable to rebound as East Carolina took the final two singles and finished off the match.

Mount Olive will return to the Walker Tennis Center April 19 as the Trojans will host Pfeiffer University. Match time is set for 2 p.m. from Mount Olive, N.C.
