Mount Olive Men's Tennis Defeats Limestone 6-3

University of Mount Olive defeated Limestone College 6-3 at the Walker Tennis Center in Mount Olive, N.C. Sunday afternoon in Conference Carolinas Women's Tennis.

Mount Olive (12-5 Overall, 9-1 Conference Carolinas) fell behind early as Limestone (8-10, 7-2) won No. 1 doubles. Jose Cortijos/Martim Sousa and Martin Moser/Yannic Stark put Mount Olive back on track as they won No. 2 and No. 3 doubles respectively and took a 2-1 lead into singles play.

Moser took No. 3 singles 6-1, 7-6 and gave the Trojans two match lead. The Saints took No.1 singles, but, Mount Olive continued to swing the hot racket and took No. 5 and No. 4 singles and put the match out of reach.

Mount Olive is in a two-way tie with Pfeiffer University for the No. 1 seed in the Conference Carolinas Men's Tennis Tournament. Mount Olive will play in the Quarterfinals April 29 at Sumter Palmetto Tennis Center in Sumter, S.C. The Trojans will take on an opponent yet to be determined at 9 a.m.
